CPCU Shoot 4 Loot raises funds for local foundation

check to Jack Denton, Chairman of the ERMC Foundation
Jodi Backofen and Marie Davis from Consumers Professional Credit Union (CPCU) presented a check to the Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) Foundation on Monday for nearly $900. The funds were raised during a recent Shoot 4 Loot promotion, where CPCU members who received installment loans had the opportunity to take shots at a basketball hoop to raise money for local charities. CPCU also supports Eaton Rapids Medical Center by helping out with the Foundation Golf Outing annually.
The Eaton Rapids Medical Center Foundation uses contributions from supporters to support technology, equipment and building improvements at ERMC. Eaton Rapids Medical Center's current endeavor is the expensive task of computerizing all patient records. The federal government is requiring hospitals to implement electronic health records by 2015. The expected cost of this project is $1 million. The ERMC Foundation ensures the organization's success in efforts such as electronic health records.
Many of the Eaton Rapids area residents benefit from the free educational programs, health screenings, counseling, support groups and school-based programs offered annually. Each year, ERMC performs more than $2.5 million of uncompensated care due to patients' inability to pay or lack of reimbursement from government programs. Contributions from the community support the Medical Center's mission of providing the community with exceptional healthcare.
